At Cairn, our focus is fixed on managing environmental resources in a sustainable manner. Operating in the highly hazardous petroleum industry, our environmental stewardship in areas such as oil spill prevention, waste minimization, emission reduction, regulatory compliances, ecosystem services, and biodiversity become all the more critical.
We believe in operating in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for the long-term benefit of all our stakeholders. As an organization, we are committed to minimizing the impact of our activities and operations on the environment. This commitment drives us to take effective steps to conserve energy and reduce environmentally harmful emissions.
As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce environmentally harmful emissions, Cairn has launched a number of initiatives. In Rajasthan, where we have our key producing asset, we are working to install solar-powered lighting system. In our producing assets at Ravva and Suvali, we predominantly utilize renewable energy.
These and many such initiatives have helped us reduce our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions intensity, far below the global average. Likewise, our average energy consumption for production operations and our gas flaring intensity also fall below the global average.
Imagine that the energy or the environmental footprint also has a monetary value which you have in your pocket. How would you spend it?
