Third Cairn Pink City Half Marathon concludes

Jaipur: The 3rd edition of Cairn Pink City Half Marathon (CPCHM) that concluded on Sunday, December 16, witnessed the participation of more than 9,000 runners and gathering of more than 25,000 people at Jaipur Ram Niwas Public Gardens. The marathon was organised to raise awareness and support on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s initiative of Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao and Swachh Bharat. The event featured running enthusiasts across age-groups from all walks of life – school children, police and administrative force, government and private-sector employees, and national and international athletes.

The marathon was flagged off by para-athletes Mr. Sundar Singh Gurjar and Mr. Sandeep Singh Maan, whom Cairn Oil & Gas supports, along with Mr. Sai Subramanian, Director, Rajasthan Asset, and Mr. Arthur de Fautereau, Chief Technology Officer, Cairn Oil & Gas. The event was flagged off in the presence of Dr. B.S. Rathore, Director Petroleum, Government of Rajasthan, and Mr. Ashok Lahoti, Mayor, Jaipur.

The winners included Mr. Govind Singh, who completed the marathon in 1 hour 8 minutes and 29 seconds, Mr. Yashveer Singh, who completed it in 1 hour 13 minutes and 8 seconds, and Mr. Sandeep who completed it in 1 hour 15 minutes and 58 seconds, in the male category. In the female category, Ms. Addis Ararso finished the marathon in 1 hour 20 minutes and 32 seconds, Ms. Brigid Jereno Kimitwai completed it in 1 hour 22 minutes and 32 seconds, and Ms. Tizita Mohamed Beker in 1 hour 29 minutes and 49 seconds. The winners were felicitated by representatives of Cairn Oil & Gas, Vedanta Limited.

The Cairn Pink City Half Marathon is one of the few marathons in the country to have the privilege of being certified by Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). This annual event was organized in association with the Jaipur Municipal Corporation. This year, Samir Singh, an Indian ultra-marathon runner, was the Brand Ambassador for the marathon.

This half marathon is one of the biggest sporting events in Rajasthan, targeting marathon runners from across India, promoting the spirit of unity by bringing thousands of people from different cultures on this platform.
