WHERE WE OPERATE

GUJARAT

Located in the offshore areas of the Cambay block – CB/0S-2 in Gujarat, Cairn operates Lakshmi and Gauri oil and gas fields in CB/OS 2. In 2002, the production of gas commenced in the Lakshmi gas field. In the Gauri field, it commenced in 2004.

Since its inception, Cambay has produced approximately ~50 million barrels of crude oil and ~256 billion cubic feet of natural gas. The average production for FY23 of the block is 10,777 bpoed. The Cambay field has clocked 1.85 million LTI free man-hours till the end of FY2023.

The application of advanced geophysical tools has transformed the CB/OS 2 block from a predominantly gas field to an oil field through the discovery of an oil leg. Cairn’s technology-driven approach has significantly helped double-block production. The block has become a great example of optimal asset utilization, with its infrastructure being used for the tolling and processing of ONGC’s gas from its North Tapti field.

An 82-acre onshore processing facility at Suvali processes natural gas and crude oil from the Lakshmi and Gauri fields. It can process 150 mmscfd of natural gas and ~15,000 boepd of crude oil. It includes three-stage separator trains, three storage tanks with a total capacity of ~37,300 bbls, as well as two ~4.8 MW captive power generation plants.

The processing plant and offshore infrastructure are certified per ISO 14001 Environment Management Certification, ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems Certification and ISO 50001 Energy Management System Certification. CB/OS-2 won “Grow Care India OHS Award 2022 - Gold Award” for outstanding achievement in OHS Management.
